One of my clients, a thriving Los Angeles media agency, is currently looking for an experienced Senior Digital Media Strategist for a global entertainment account, preferably with global and/or entertainment experience. DON'T LET THE TITLE FOOL YOU. THIS IS AN AMD-LEVEL JOB IN SALARY AND RESPONSIBILITIES!!! This job is 70% strategic and 30% analytics.
The Sr. Digital Media Strategist will define innovative and highly effective digital media strategies, and be a “hands on contributor” within the agency. Excellent client management, strategic thinking and executive communication skills are required. Media/advertising agency experience an absolute must!
Responsibilities:
- Work closely with the comms and media planning team to develop global digital media strategies and guidelines (must be able to create strong and relevant guidelines that align with the overall media objective and recommendations)
- Stays on top of digital marketing and industry trends, especially as they relate to entertainment clients
- Analyzes competitive activities in the marketplace
- Collects and maintains data via internal or third party sources
- Apply insights to develop digital media campaign recommendations/strategy
- Work with counterpart to fully leverage data and facilitate campaign integration
- Perform detailed evaluation of client business environment to identify unique market opportunities for a range of digital services. Work on presentations to present these opportunities to clients
- Promotes learning and interaction between clients, agency and leading digital media owners
- Work closely with client teams and facilitate communications between digital clients and local markets
- Manages digital related network requests from LA to all agency markets globally, making sure they are delivered on time and with quality
- Participate in the process to help evaluate local country digital media plans, to ensure alignment with media recommendations
- Works on post campaign analysis (measures media performance to determine the extent to which local markets met their original objectives and strategies) and facilitates network sharing of best ideas
- Ensures good working relationship with all international teams and the client to facilitate flawless execution of plans
- Project management of digital deliverables (manages schedules, and timelines)
- Assists in any ad-hoc projects as needed and provide a progressive point of view on digital and social media
Skills:
- 5-8 years experience in digital media strategy across multiple industries. Media or advertising agency experience a must. Entertainment experience highly desirable.
- International digital media experience a huge plus
- Strong passion for and knowledge of technology, emerging media and the Internet
- Must have good understanding of digital marketing and metrics, and how it relates to the overall marketing strategy
- Excellent presentation and deck writing skills
- Ability to thrive in a fluid and entrepreneurial environment
- Strong team player, but with the ability to work independently
- Familiarity with a range of data management/analytics software
- Experience with managing client relationships & regular client interaction
- Good knowledge of Powerpoint and Excel
- Bachelors degree a must, MBA a plus
